Description

Are you an experienced Board leader passionate about governance, equity, and the social sector? The Oversight Trust seeks an exceptional individual to Chair its Board, guiding its vital work in overseeing and supporting its Operating Companies (OpCos) (Better Society Capital, Access – the Foundation for Social Investment, Fair4All Finance and Youth Futures Foundation) and in doing so advancing social good using resources provided by the Dormant Assets Scheme.

As Chair, you will provide leadership to the Board, which ensures that each OpCo remains true to its purpose and is effectively governed. You will represent the organisation to government and the public, fostering transparency and confidence in its work. In addition to chairing Board meetings and Away Days, you will engage with key stakeholders, including the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the National Lottery Community Fund, and the leadership of the OpCos. As Chair, you will also serve as an ambassador for the organisation, building its profile and fostering relationships that enhance its mission.

An experienced Chair, Non-Executive Director or Trustee, you will be familiar with complex governance structures and possess strong knowledge of the social sector, including policy and best practices in charities or social enterprises. You should also bring strong financial acumen, professional integrity, and excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. A coaching and facilitative leadership style will enable you to support and develop Board members and executives effectively.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a unique mission while engaging with a dynamic and committed Board.
